Vocabulary:
irasshai mase: welcome (...Shop person say to guests)
Hitsuyou : to need
Yoyaku : reservation
X-nin : nin means 'people', so e3 ninf is 3(people), e8 ninf is 8(people)
Matsu : to wait (eOmachif is polite way of ematsuf)
Shou shou : a bit or a moment
Seki = seat (eOseki' is polite way of esekif)
Eigo = English
Sugu = soon / Right now
omochi suru = to bring you (something) : 'omochi' is the polite way of 'motte kuru'
Waiter: irasshai mase

Waiter: nanmei sama desuka?(How many in your

(Wait a moment please.)
Waiter: oseki ga arimasu node kochira ni douzo.(There
are some seats for you, please come this way.)
You: Yokatta desu, arigatou.
(good, thanks.)
You: Eigo no menyuu wa arimasu ka?(Do you have a
menu in English?)
Waiter: Hai gozaimasu. Suguni omochi shi masu.(Yes
we have. Ifll be back with it soon.)

Vocabulary:
Osusume= to recommend ('osusume' is the polite way of 'susumeru')
Honjitsu = today( we also say ekyouf in Japanese )
Osashimi = sliced raw fish ('Osashimi' is the polite way of 'Sashimi')
Kesa = this morning
Shinsen = fresh
Maguro = tuna
Tako = octopus
Oishii = delicious or tasty
Mazui = nasty or ebad-tastingf
Tondemonai = unbelievable or eno wayf
Zettai = never ( we also say ekeshitef in Japanese )
Doushite = why
Honki = serious ( we also say emajime (ni)f in Japanese )
Hoka = anything else or eanotherf
Kashikomari mashita = Yes, sir. (This is very polite way to say 'wakari mashita')
Guest A : Osusume wa nan desu ka?
( what do you recommend? )
Waiter: honjitsu wa maguro no osashimi ga osusume desu.
Kesa shinsen na maguro ga hairi mashita

( I recommend sashimi of tuna today. We got a really fresh tuna this
morning. )
Guest A: Oishisou desu ne. Sore wo kudasai.
( It sounds delicious. I choose it. )
Waiter: shinsen na tako mo gozaimasu ga, ikaga desu ka?
( We also have a really fresh octopus, how about it? )
Guest A: ie ie tondemonai! Watashi wa tako wa zettai
tabemasen!
( no no..no way~! I never eat octopus! )
Waiter: sou desu ka..( I seec )
Guest B: doushite desu ka?! Tabete mimashou yo! Oishii kamo shiremasen.
( Why not?! We should try some! It might be tasty. )

( okay okay, but if it was not good you should eat all of
them, okay? )

Meg and Bill, they are going about together.
This is the conversation of them at a restaurant.
Waiter: Omatase shimashita, douzo.
(Here you are, Ifm sorry to have kept you waiting.)
Meg: Oishisou! (This looks great!)
Bill: Dore mo oishisou dane. (They all look
good.)
Meg: Sore wa nani? (What is it?)
Bill: Kore wa Hotate-gai no sashimi dayo
(This is Sashimi of a scallopc)
Meg: Sukoshi tabete mitemo ii? (Can I try
some?)

Kimi: you( normally we use eanataf but theyfre a
boyfriend and a girlfriend.
In this case, you can use ekimif as you. also 'Boku' is
the same meaning of
'Watashi'(I), guys use 'Boku' or 'Ore' instead of
'Watashi'(I), 'Boku' sounds
casual and 'Ore' sounds rough; sometimes 'Ore' sounds cool

Normally we use eKeigof(polite expressions) to others.

when we talk to close friends or boyfriends or girlfriends
or
family, we omit 'Keigo' like e~desuf or e~ masuf.
In the conversations at a restaurant, Meg said: gSore wa nani?h(What is it?)
Itfs the same meaning of gSore wa nan desu ka?h(What is it?)
